The AMA Steps Up in Support of Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Easing the student loan burden has long been an American Medical Association (AMA) priority and the #1 priority of Fiducius. “On June 15, 2017, the AMA adopted new policy supporting expansion of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (PSLF) to residents at for-profit institutions, while affirming its stance against putting a cap on the loan forgiveness program. The AMA also will encourage medical school financial advisors to promote “service-based loan repayment options and other federal and military programs” when counseling medical students.”

We are happy to see the most prominent professional organization in the medical field voicing their support for the PSLF program and strengthening their policies to ensure widespread awareness of the program; our mission since 2011. For more information about AMA support for PSLF, click here.

We encourage you to contact your own professional organizations, and call on them to voice their support for PSLF. Your employees need this money saving program, so they can reduce financial stress and focus on their work and other life goals.
